We have to write how they function and how they work together. Well DUH I know how they all function and how the male and female reproductive systems work togehter, BUT not how the circulatory system falls into place.

My partner suffers from IBS and cannot eat gluten or dairy products because of it. Also I have noticed he always seems to feel run down and unwell even though he has a relatively easy life with little stress. He suffers badly from mouth ulcers and constantly has a runny nose. A friend of mine who suffers from Crohn’s said these are all symptoms of the disease but could it be something else that I am missing?

my 10 month old has just started having more ‘real’ meals and less baby food jars and is getting a bit constipated, she is still going frequently but its very hard work for her and it is hard and not much. she has veggies with most of her meals and usually fruit afterwards and drinks water and plenty of wet nappys, ive heard fresh orange juice & water can help? any other things i can try?and is there anything i can get over the counter for under 1’s?

My daughter’s period is very heavy this month. (As in tampon changes every 15-30 minutes for 2 days) I don’t understand where all this blood is coming from. Have been diagnosed for three years, and always seem to relaspe just as things seem to be getting better. Currently flared-up. Diet mainly consists of white meat, fish, potatoes, carrot and swede. Cannot tolerate green veg or salad veg, cheese, tomatoes, onion. I don’t eat rice, noodles, chilli or curry, and the only hot foodstuff I have is a very small amount of brown pepper on chicken. On lansoprazole for gastric reflux and recently been given propranolol for severe anxiety attacks. Taking them together on my doctors advice. However, the panick attacks often cause me to gasp for breath and as a result I have strained my chest muscles. Can I take Ibuprofen for the swelling whilst I am taking these other drugs? Confused and in bad pain!

He is now in pain with a cramping feeling in his chest that he says feels like being on a roller coaster. He cant sleep til this pain has gone. He tried gaviscon last night and anti sickness tablets but they didnt work. What can he do to make this pain go away as everything he is eating he is bringing up again. He had a co codamol but it came up again.

My doctor is pretty sure I am suffering with a condition called GERD which is short for a long old name that basically means I have severe acid reflux. I am now on a low fat diet, no sugar, no caffeine diet and I really miss my cups of tea. Is it ok to drink a decaf tea? I have heard that hot temperatures also irritate reflux so any information would be very much appreciated.

Ok, I’ve been constipated for three days, and it has taken away all of my energy and I’m in so much pain. How do I get the poo out without taking a Laxidant. I have a party to go to very soon and I don’t want to be constipated when I’m swimming.

At about 4:30pm today I ate a bowl of soup. At 12:45am I went to the bathroom, and lo and behold what do I find? In my excrement I find clear traces of the soup I ate. This is only 8 hours and 15 minutes after I ate it! I suspected my digestive system worked fast, but THAT fast? Is that normal? How long does it usually take from the time food enters the body to when the waste products of the same food are expelled? If this is abnormal, what could be the cause, and what are the possible reprocussions?

I do not have diarhea, so that is out as an explaination.

Hey guys, she is ok now, turns out she was tearing her bed apart and she had eatn a little bit of foam, which she has since passed. Ive been watching her very closely to see if she was passing anything and if her poo was starting to solidify anymore and it has. SO were all good now. THanks for all the answers. I actually called a vet at 6 this morning and they told me that if she is eating and drinking and acting normal then she is good. And thats what she’s doing. For years i have got terrible heartburn after drinking a mug of any instant coffee, two weeks ago i bought some decent fresh ground coffee to percolate in a plunger jug, not only doe’s it taste beautiful but i do not get any heartburn, also i do not get that caffeine rush to the brain, i also find i have slept much better. I have always been incredibly regular, but this changed after visiting Cambodia (3 months ago). My doctor has checked for parasites etc and has made the diagnosis of IBS. He thinks the travellers diahorea I experienced on holiday has brought to light my IBS. My boyfriend is really pleased that I don’t have parasites. I’ve heard Dr Andrew Weil say that people can survive on intervenous feeding of glucose alone for quite some time but very little time on fructose. I believe he was implying that fructose is an inferior sugar.
But isn’t the body’s digestive system able to convert fructose into glucose in any event? Any savy nutritionists or doctors out there who can give me insight?

I have just started back on my Slimming World diet (lost 3.5 stone before - put 1 stone back on - so I’m trying to lose it again plus a bit more).
Since I started back on the diet I have not been able to go to the toilet and have ended up taking a Senokot (tablet for constipation relief) every 7 days just to clear myself out.
Surely 7 days to go without a poo is not healthy, and that doesnt even happen naturally.
I drink plenty of water and eat lots of fruit on this diet so I cannot understand it.

I ask this because I know someone who appears to be very anorexic, having very little (or no) body fat, and a slightly arched back. I have heard something about not being able to digest glucose or something, but this has not been verified and may not be legitimate.

If a child has quite bad diarrhea it is fine to have them sit on or near the toilet all day but at night this is inpractical.
If the child wears a nappy to bed then it saves the parents the hassle of cleaning messy sheets and allows the child some sleep (needed if your immune system is to recover.)

I know of lots of parents who do this with younger children (5 and below.)
But at what age does it become unacceptable to put a child in a nappy for this reason?
6, 8, or mabye older?

I have got my blood and stool result and they are absolutely normal, I have made another appointment since my diarrhea hasn’t stopped. I only go to the toilet once or twice a day, mainly in the morning when I break wind I can feel it.
I just like to recap that this is something I have had for the past 6 or 7 month but for some day I poo fine and for some day I poo watery poo, just recently I have started to pooh liquid.
But I got my test taken after pooing liquid and this moring I got the result as I explain I am totally fine.
I also have other question because I was very heavily build and yes very muscular, I seem to lose muscle fast when my diarhea get really bad.

I have been using Prep H wipes when I go to the loo and Germoloids ointment and suppositories to help with the fissure. Unfortunately both of the Germoloids products say not to use more than four times in any 24 hour period - as I’m going to the loo much more than this (because of the IBS), and each time I do the fissure opens up again, I need something else to help. Can anyone give any other advice please?
