Can Mebeverine hydrocloride cause bloating and constipation?

   My dad takes Mebeverine and is constantly bloated (not constipated though). Perhaps you should go back to your doc to get it checked, it maybe that you need something different.

   I don’t know if it will, but some smooth move tea from the health food store will at first try 2 bags because I don’t know how long you have been in that condition but by the next morning you should feel relief so take some tonight

   I was put on that and found it did not work for me, but try doing some exercise as well as taking the drugs that helps a great deal. Long walks or jogging especially

   It would seem so although it is not listed as a side effect. I think what happens is that motility (movement) reduces in the bowel which slows down the transit of waste which then becomes harder as it passes slowly through the transverse colon (which re-absorbs water from waste). The bloating is probably just part of being constipated as gas is produced by putrefying waste. Increase the fibre in your diet, add in pro and prebiotics and take digestive enzymes until your system starts to work properly. You can buy a product called Go Daily from http://www.detoxonline.co.uk which contains all the things you need so makes it much cheaper than buying individual products. You also need to make sure you are drinking two litres of water per day. Also try to eat a wet diet i.e. not too many crisps and dry foods and lots of fresh fruit and vegetables.
