digestive diseases Archives

I know the digestive tract is the mouth, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and the anus.
But what exact order does the food go through? It it the same as the digestive tract?

I’ve heard that digestive enzymes are made out of amino acids but aren’t they also made out of other nutrients such as vitamins or minerals? -iron maybe? Please clarify.

Same as above what are some differences between the human digestive system and the pig digestive system?

THANKS!

Starting with the mouth and ends at the liver.
Mouth
Pharynx
tongue
Escphagus
Liver.
This is what I came up with

I always hear of new colon cleansers everywhere I turn, and I want to know where I a could order a free smaple of a colon cleanser online without wasting my time. Also, how are you supposed to use colon cleanser as a weight loss supplement?

Digestive system diseases

My story is that during in the year 2001 I spent fourteen days in three different hospitals because of digestive system diseases. I can tell you something none of you would like to hear: the modern medicine doesn’t know how to cope our internal pains and diseases, it can only guess.

This I tell you by real experience. The first time was when I was close to complete my academic studies. For four years I learned mathematics and when my time for final exams arrived I was close to break down, it really was a tensed time for me.

One day, when my wife was abroad I woke up with a stomach ache. I am used to have some small pains here and there but this pain was bothering, and it wouldn’t stop for three days, day and night.

At last I went to a hospital. It took six hours until I was examined and then I got to sleep. As hours passed by I figured out the doctors gave no diagnosis, so I was told to stay there and rest. Three days passed in pain and weakness and my wife came back from abroad. That she will never forget. Since then, eight years passed and she still remembers the smell. Being in such pains I did not take care of myself and the staff forgot me. I was left dressed in bed, not cleaned and not taken to the shower, it was a stench.

The end is good on one side, not so good on the other.

As she came she pulled me right away from that hospital and we went to another one. There I was well cleaned and treated. Never the less, also there no one had found what I was suffering of. They could only assume a kind of  digestive system diseases, I got to know the reason just many months later.

Over the last few months I have lost about half a stone.
Today I have been needing the toilet but only a small amount of mucus is coming out. I have looked up weight loss and mucus and I found stuff about Crohn’s. I don’t understand, what is Crohn’s, what are the symptoms etc?

Also, I have been having mild hip pain for a few months even though I am only 18. Could this be related?

Thanks!

As these are chronic diseases I cant understand why this is not under the above. Not only myself but there is a great number of people that suffer with this, and being able to look up to see what people are asking and answering would be a great help, and also make people aware this disease is an awful thing to have and cope with.

I have been suffering from lung infection and poor digestion ever since I was born.. I have been seeing Chinese Medicine Doctors, and herbalists, and they have helped me greatly along the way with my symptoms. Yesterday, I read an article about a disease called Cystic Fibrosis, that sounded like what I have been dealing with all my life. But it sounded like this is a fatal diseases and mine is not that bad.(maybe due to herbs that i take and also Panciatic enzymes)… I was wondering, is there any other diseases similar to Cystic Fibrosis, where a person has a tough time digesting Fats, Starches, and …. and has constant thick mucus build up and ..????
I know I don’t have Celiac disease because I got tested for that one already.

have a science project! what are 3 ways how to keep the circulatory system healthy

I guess I’m just looking for support and comfort…I’m kind of in the middle of this nightmare-ish situation right now and I want to know if anyone else here has been through this before…so basically for a year now i’ve been reaaaally sick…my digestive system just really doesn’t work (SEVERE constipation). I was 135 pounds and now im 93 pounds…i’m currently going through all of this testing to see why my digestive system won’t work (and why i’ve developed all these food sensitivities) and basically all they’ve found is Crohn’s disease in my blood work but NOT in the colonoscopy (so they can’t diagnose or treat me for that) and a blockage in my stomach that they call "SMA". But they can’t find what’s wrong with my intestines. I’ve had a barium X ray, Colonoscopy, endoscopy, ultra sound…and tomorrow I’m doing a capsule endoscopy.

Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone else been through this? Does anyone here have digestive issues? How did they diagnose you, your symptoms?

taking care good care of your circulatory system is good. it can make you healthy.

My friend has Crohn’s disease, it has evolved rapidly. He now has ulcers in his mouth, severe bloody diarrhea, extreme abdominal pain and there are many ulcers in his colon along with an extremely inflamed small intestine.

The doctors said they will have to remove his colon and have a colostomy bag. He is only 29 and feels this will ruin his life and has refused to have it removed.

My question is, if he doesn’t have his colon removed what will happen? Will the pain just carry on or will something even more serious happen?

Have been diagnosed for three years, and always seem to relaspe just as things seem to be getting better. Currently flared-up. Diet mainly consists of white meat, fish, potatoes, carrot and swede. Cannot tolerate green veg or salad veg, cheese, tomatoes, onion. I don’t eat rice, noodles, chilli or curry, and the only hot foodstuff I have is a very small amount of brown pepper on chicken. How do people whose diet is mainly a spicey one, ie Asian/Indian, cope with Colitis?

how do the immune system and the circulatory system work with eachother?

my science homework is to compare the circulatory system to two things, like a road. Basically an analogy. I am not sure what things i can compare to. I have thought thave several things but my analogy has to compare the heart, veins, arteries, capillaries, and blood. Thank you for your help!

This is for a science project on digestive diseases. I had finished my project on peptic ulcers but then I found out someone else in the class had chosen the same disease so the teacher told us that one of us had to choose something else. The other person had only printed out some stuff from the internet. I was the unfortunate one who was told to do my project on another disease. A bit unfair don’t you think?
Anyway…

1. What are the causes of celiac disease? I know that it’s genetic and even though some people may not show symptoms, it can be triggered by stress, pregnancy, surgery, infection, serious injury, childbirth, etc. but is there anything else which can cause it?

2. Are there any treatments for it apart from avoiding food containing gluten altogether (which is more a method of prevention than treatment) ?

These two points are the parts of my project I am unsure about.
Thanks in advance :)

I’ve been searching in youtube, Google and yahoo videos, but I can’t find a complete one. The video is supposed to tackle everything about circulation, including the anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system. I badly need it for my biology report on Tuesday. Do you know of any website wherein I could download one? Thanks!

The title says it all, this is not for a test or homework, I am simply curious as to why our circulatory system has advantages over a closed system.

Also, what are the symptoms please?

Let me know above a correct answer of above question?

I thought the lymphatic system worked similar to the circulatory system, but our instructor told us that it is actually part of the circulatory system. In other words, according to the instructor, the spleen, lymph nodes and immune system basically fall under the circulatory system. This doesn’t sound right to me? Can someone explain?

6th grade science question.
list atleast three and how they affect the body and possible treatments .

thanks .

I have a project to do about how the circulatory system is important in some specific physical activity, and i chose yoga.
links to info websites would be good.
thanks!

Why is the circulatory system described as a closed system? I need it for my HW.

Have you found any foods which exacerbate your symptoms and do you know of any natural remedies?
Believe you me, I know what it is KGJ… but thanks for your input anyway x

Can you tell me if this sounds right? This is my answer: The heart pumps the blood away from the heart into the circulatory system to which it enters the pulmonary capillaries which oxygenates the blood. He blood completes a circle around the body and makes it way back to the heart where it happens all over again. The heart pumps the blood away from the heart into the circulatory system to which it enters the pulmonary capillaries which oxygenates the blood. He blood completes a circle around the body and makes it way back to the heart where it happens all over again. Without the circulatory system the cardiovascular system would not have blood to pump throughout the body.

Thanks so much! This is for a life science class that I am having a hard time with. You both helped me sooooo much!!! Thanks!!!!

I have heard lots of horror stories about women loosing continence for weeks after giving birth normally whilst having ulcerative colitis, due to the pressure of pushing excessively on the bowel. I am considering asking my consultant for an elective section. Was just wondering had anyone any knowledge of this?

No need for any definitions, just the disease and that’s it!
Only the name of the disease and no more definitions, no more and not indeed needed…
Thanks!!!

Okay I am in grade 9 and i am doing a project on the circulatory system. I have the basic info but i want something more but i cant find anything…. any help would be appreciated but nothing I wouldnt understand…. dont forget i am only in grade 9!

i’m very tempted to say they have an ‘open’ circulatory system but where does the hemolymph actually flow? in the mesoglea?

Well if there are any disease that affects the whole digestive system , please tell me, and if not , at least tell me if there are any diseases that affects more than 4 organs in the digestive system. =]

I am suffering from Crohn’s disease and I am taking the medicine of crohn’s disease. Can I eat everything of food such as meet, fish, mango fruit, etc? My age is 24? This disease is curable or treatable? How many years will I alive in this world?

I’m doing a project for Anatomy and I was just thinking maybe someone on here would know about a rare disease of the digestive system.

I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis last year. I want to know if anyone has suggestions or advice for dealing with relapses.

Doctors often say that diet has little to do with the disease and does not affect remission and relapse, but I find this hard to believe.

Any suggestions are welcome.

I am doing Bio homework and am supposed to outline/trace the circulatory system of a crayfish. I just need a brief discription of how it all happens.

how do the circulatory system, respiratory system and digestive system function together and how do they meet in the body?

I would really like to know the answer to this question. I have checked myself and have yet to discover a detailed answer.

thank you very much.

1) why do you need a transportation network inside your body?

2) Name at least three substances brought into the body that are transported by your circulatory system.

3) Where is each of these substances being taken by the blood?

My nephew has colitis and may have to have a colostomy bag in the future. He is currently training as a chef at college. Because of this condition he has been told he may not be allowed to complete the course and become a chef. Is this correct? Any advice or web links would be appreciated. Thanks.

My Girlfriend has been diagnosed with Crohn’s deisease and is due to start her treatment which will start with a course of steroids.

She is absolutely dreading putting on the weight that seems to come with this form of medication.

Does anyone know how much weight she can expect to put on and how she can avoid it?

Thanks for your help.

I need to write about a gastrointestinal system or digestive system disease/disorder. I need to describe what it is, causes, symptoms and treatments. Anyone know any good links?
