Canned pumpkin is good for diarrhea - plain pumpkin, not seasoned pie filling. If it doesn’t clear up, she should see the vet to find out what’s going on. Also, she needs to be drinking plenty of water to make sure she doesn’t get dehydrated.
A big cork????……
Cooked chicken & rice. It’s great for dogs with upset stomachs. Cooked & plain (no seasonings of any sort).
What about a Vets appointment?
Is she close to her due date? Then Id say she may be in early labor. If thats the case, feed her vanilla ice cream (she needs calcium) and lots of water. Dogs are pregnant from 61-63 days.If shes not that close to be in labor, call the vet!
Is she near her due date?
If so it’s common for this to happen around labour time
If she isn’t then give her bland food, boiled rice and chicken
I don’t know tons about pregnancies in dogs, but feeding your dog (boiled) white rice is supposed to quell upset tummies. I would call the vet, however, knowing she is pregnant, just to be absolutely safe.
My vet tells me to use kaopectate.
Call the vet, she could be miscarrying or have an infection, you could lose her and the puppies. You got her pregnant, so it’s up to you t look after her. take her to the vet.
I’ve found this hope it helps;
If your dog has diarrhea and seems to be reasonably strong, happy and active, simply follow these guidelines:
Cut the amount of food you are feeding in half
Feed home cooked bland diets; they are vastly superior to the commercial bland diets promoted by many veterinarians
Bland foods include:
1/3 meat
Cooked meats that are very low in fat such as chicken (you can also boil hamburger, which will remove all the fat)
2/3 rice or other bland grain
Cottage Cheese
White Rice (some will do better on cooked oatmeal)
Do not add any oils or fats to the diet at this point
To the Bland Food, add:
Yogurt 1-3 tablespoons per meal (yogurt is soothing but does not really provide any significant beneficial bacteria…. see our information about Lactobacillus sporogenes)
Provide a probiotic. We recommend Lactobacillus Sporgenes, click here to order
Boiled Sweet Potato: 2-4 tablespoons
Keep feeding this bland diet for at least a couple days after the diarrhea clears up.
Also my kittens have had some upset stomachs recently and the vet gave us some special food,
Hill’s prescription diet, http://www.hillspet.com/hillspet/utilities/selectLanguage.hjsp
It says it a reduced fat, highly digestible food with prebiotic fibre sources for better digestion and rapid relief from vomiting and diarroea. They may make some suitable for dogs.
Hope she gets better soon.
Call your vet = get her checked out by the vet if she isn’t better in a few days, this is dangerous at the best of times, doubly so when she is pregnant.
Big danger here is dehydration - do NOT let this go on.
Meanwhile, white meat, skinless boneless chicken or very lean chop meat mixed with rice might help. Pepto bysmol can also help, but I do stress that she needs to see a vet if she has diarrhea more than 3 days.
try boiled rice with chicken breast cut up small, has worked for my dog and it is a good source of protein .good luck
