-should i ask a doctor?
-Or ignore it ?
P.S. :
Celiac disease is a digestive disease that damages the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. People who have celiac disease cannot tolerate a protein called gluten, which is found in wheat, rye, barley, and possibly oats.
My group is for people with Digestive Diseases who would like a forum for support and information. How can I locate people whose profile would match my group? Is there a place here at Yahoo where I can list things such as Crohn’s Disease, ( GERD, IBD, IBS, Gastroparesis, Celiac Disease etc.) and receive a list of people whose profile includes Crohn’s Disease (or GERD, IBD, IBS etc.)?
I have been suffering from lung infection and poor digestion ever since I was born.. I have been seeing Chinese Medicine Doctors, and herbalists, and they have helped me greatly along the way with my symptoms. Yesterday, I read an article about a disease called Cystic Fibrosis, that sounded like what I have been dealing with all my life. But it sounded like this is a fatal diseases and mine is not that bad.(maybe due to herbs that i take and also Panciatic enzymes)… I was wondering, is there any other diseases similar to Cystic Fibrosis, where a person has a tough time digesting Fats, Starches, and …. and has constant thick mucus build up and ..????
I know I don’t have Celiac disease because I got tested for that one already.
This is for a science project on digestive diseases. I had finished my project on peptic ulcers but then I found out someone else in the class had chosen the same disease so the teacher told us that one of us had to choose something else. The other person had only printed out some stuff from the internet. I was the unfortunate one who was told to do my project on another disease. A bit unfair don’t you think?
Anyway…
1. What are the causes of celiac disease? I know that it’s genetic and even though some people may not show symptoms, it can be triggered by stress, pregnancy, surgery, infection, serious injury, childbirth, etc. but is there anything else which can cause it?
2. Are there any treatments for it apart from avoiding food containing gluten altogether (which is more a method of prevention than treatment) ?
These two points are the parts of my project I am unsure about.
Thanks in advance
