As to my experience with digestive system health, I would say that a person can only take care of himself. This issue of one’s health and especially digestive system health is a mere mirror of one’s attitude towards his mental and physical health. All begin in one’s mind, then goes to the rest of the body’s organs. I would put it in different words: when it comes to one’s physical and mental health, first thing is to understand they are walking hand in hand, the second one is planning your health ahead, and I don’t speak of health insurance of any kind, only the natural type.
As far as I see that, digestive system health starts with right nutrition. Some of us eat health food and have balanced nutrition as a costume derived from home, from mom’s and pup’s habits and education. These people, who are many of us, just got well educated regarding this manner. They eat regularly, in specific and fixed hours, they have the habit of eating small portions, another beautiful habit is eating only one type of food group each meal: protein or Carbohydrates, not to mix the one with the other. This avoids the stomach to work harder than it has to.
Now to the biggest group, the one that can control its eating habits better. This group is made of many people who are derived a little more by their emotions than by physical needs such as hunger, tiredness or thirst. It also does not contain people who function regularly by plan, but this is a really small group [I mean the planners]. So what can we, the emotional, do? We can connect food and eating habits to love and to real needs, we can ask ourselves, each time we go to the fridge and open it, better one step before the door is opened: “am I hungry?” Asking that simple question is a big step towards health, especially the digestive system’s one.
i have almost constant stomach aches, diarrhea or constipation, etc. my doctor has tested me for various diseases and conditions all of which come back normal. i AM lactose intolerant and my doctor now believes that i probably have IBS, but hasnt offered any kind of treatment. I take lactase enzyme when i eat dairy, i take papaya enzyme after i eat, and i take acidophillus daily. is there anything else i can take to help alleviate my symptoms?
Hi there I have college today & for the last week or so every single day i’ve had diarrhea & had to leave early because of it, its so embarrassing & makes me feel sick too. The other day I tried just plain toast for breakfast and that STILL gave me diarrhea!!! What can I eat this morning to avoid getting it later on? But I got my test taken after pooing liquid and this moring I got the result as I explain I am totally fine.
I also have other question because I was very heavily build and yes very muscular, I seem to lose muscle fast when my diarhea get really bad.

I’ve recently drastically changed my diet, for the better. Instead of red meat, fried food, coffee, alcohol etc. I’m now drinking veggie juice, herbal teas, rice milk and eating more veg and fruit. Chicken, fish, pulses and grains, buckwheat, millet, etc.
This diarrhea has gone on for weeks now, and weird colour…(sorry!) sort of greenish. Any clues? Immodium didnt work.

Can the red sauce be the culprit? Its never right away…its always the next morning - the stomach cramps wake me up. Please only real answers - No "dont eat pizza" or silly things about diarrhea.
no I eat wheat bread and other wheat products and it doesnt happen. Just after eating pizza and pasta with red sauce. It doesnt even happen if I eat pasta with cream sauce.

First couple of days his poos were fine but then he started to get diarrhea. I’ve heard that if you change their food it gives them an upset tummy so i’m wondering if he had different food before i got him.
I’ve also heard that whiskers is bad for them but i don’t want to change it now incase that makes his tummy worse!

We switched our dog to a raw diet on 07/29/09 about two weeks ago. He has had the runs (diarrhea) several times per day every day since. When will this stop. We started out the first week just on chicken quarters then every 3rd day served ground beef. We completely discontinued his dry kibble. Will his digestive system ever settle? I had a tonsillectomy 2 weeks ago, yesterday. And for the past three days my digestive system has been really messy and all over the place. I started eating more solid foods about 5 days ago and it was all okay, I just had some diarrhea. According to my GP I don’t have IBS or anything physically wrong with me that he can find. I don’t feel ill, its just randomly, quite often, I get uncontrolable diarrhea, its virtually impossible to predict or stop when it happens.

Hey guys, she is ok now, turns out she was tearing her bed apart and she had eatn a little bit of foam, which she has since passed. Ive been watching her very closely to see if she was passing anything and if her poo was starting to solidify anymore and it has. SO were all good now. THanks for all the answers. I actually called a vet at 6 this morning and they told me that if she is eating and drinking and acting normal then she is good. And thats what she’s doing. So thanks again, sorry if my question was stupid, i just didnt know what i should do and i live in utah so everythin is closed on sunday…
My daughter has had diarrhea for two days now. We don’t live near a doctor so I can’t take her to a doctor unless I really had to. There has been no vomit and she eats a fantastic diet. For the last 4 days my 1yr old indoor cat has had diarrhea but last night I found drops of blood in my living room and when I looked at his littler tray there was quite alot of blood mixed in with his diarrhea. A friend is on a long distance biking event, biking 90miles a day for 10 days. Now, at 5 days, he is experiencing sickness and diarrhea. Is this down to physical burnout or anything else and what is the remedy?
If a child has quite bad diarrhea it is fine to have them sit on or near the toilet all day but at night this is inpractical.
If the child wears a nappy to bed then it saves the parents the hassle of cleaning messy sheets and allows the child some sleep (needed if your immune system is to recover.)
I know of lots of parents who do this with younger children (5 and below.)
But at what age does it become unacceptable to put a child in a nappy for this reason?
6, 8, or mabye older?
