Since this summer my digestive system has been crazy; sometimes I get diharea, sometimes my stomach hurts, I radomly get nautious… It will get better and then worse. I often feel kind of a bubbling in my stomach when things are getting worse and I think it might have something to do with acid. I have tried to find a common denominator, but I can’t. I used to think it had to do with dairy, but it doesn’t seem to. I’ve been under alot of stress that might have something to do with it. I am worried because in a week I am going to the Middle East on a study abroad and I don’t want to get my system really, really messed up. What might I have?
I’ve also been really tired and kind of easily distracted since this started, but this could be unrelated. When it showed up I thought it was because I was Keflax (an antibiotic) for what I think was a poisonous spider bite I got while working at a summer camp.
It used to be intense stomach pain lasting for several hours (after drinking a yogurt smoothy usually) more than anything, but that has gone away…sometimes I even wonder if it is the same thing. I do have alot of stress in my life (the study abroad, transferring schools, hard classes, a demanding mother…), but yeah…
My trip is only 2 and half weeks, and we are going to Oman, which doesnt have super-great health care, but much better than most countries in the region, but I doubt that I will need it… my symptoms are really more annoying than anything. If you have any ideas of things I can try before having to go to a doctor they would be really appriated!
I have acid reflux / fatty liver / low blood pressure. My husband is an alcoholic and verbally abuses me all the time. He really stresses out and i think its all bringing it on more. Do you think that stress is a big factor? i am on lansoprozole 30mg once a day plus loads of rennie as and when. Any other ideas?
he`s been to the doctors more times than i can remember about this problem but he`s had no tablets or help.does anyone know if stress makes ibs worse,,what herbal remedies could anyone recommend to help with his problem..cheers
Having my first session tomorrow. Headaches caused by stress and sinuses. IBS pains controlled through healthy diet but I have terrible bloating - can this be helped by reflexology? If it helps how often would I have to get it done?
My partner suffers from IBS and cannot eat gluten or dairy products because of it. Also I have noticed he always seems to feel run down and unwell even though he has a relatively easy life with little stress. He suffers badly from mouth ulcers and constantly has a runny nose. A friend of mine who suffers from Crohn’s said these are all symptoms of the disease but could it be something else that I am missing?
This is for a science project on digestive diseases. I had finished my project on peptic ulcers but then I found out someone else in the class had chosen the same disease so the teacher told us that one of us had to choose something else. The other person had only printed out some stuff from the internet. I was the unfortunate one who was told to do my project on another disease. A bit unfair don’t you think?
Anyway…
1. What are the causes of celiac disease? I know that it’s genetic and even though some people may not show symptoms, it can be triggered by stress, pregnancy, surgery, infection, serious injury, childbirth, etc. but is there anything else which can cause it?
2. Are there any treatments for it apart from avoiding food containing gluten altogether (which is more a method of prevention than treatment) ?
These two points are the parts of my project I am unsure about.
Thanks in advance
