My cat has irritable bowel syndrome and the vet has suggested Hills dry food for sensitive cats as a way forward to combat his diarrhoea. I just wondered if anyone else had any experience with cats with IBS and what they feed them as im worried my vet may be advising that brand as its the only one they sell! Price isn’t important, it just needs to be super bland! Many thanks!
I have a vet app. on monday. what should i do until then?
can i feed her boiled rice?
*i am giving her the food she has been fed by the breeder she seems to be interested more in the food than in water (i dont use tap water) and even though she has diarrhea she’s still very active
*How many times should i feed her per day? less than 3 times?
My dog is nearly 9yrs old, and has had this tummy problem off and on for afew years.I feed him Burns Lamb & Rice complete dry food, which seems to be okay, but then suddenly he has another episode… it is quite distressing for him and me.He has been to the vet many times, and I have to watch what he eats, as he will eat anything…it’s so frustrating. (He also suffers from arthritis in his hips)Can anyone help ?
My 7 year male cat ’sugar’ has been diagnosed with colitis. He loves the usual cat food but has to be on chicken or fish permanently now. the vet said i could buy special sensitive foods etc but are not available in supermarkets Does anyone know what are good brands and where i can get them from or can anyone suggest some recipies i can make myself with chicken or fish to give him difference. Thank you
My dog has been constipated since yesterday, as it’s the weekend there is no vet available, so until tomorrow i want to try something else. I’ve heard pumpkin is good but she won’t eat … and hasn’t even taken a drink of water.
i managed to get her to drink some milk but this hasn’t really done the trick either.
any advice?
She is 8 months old and she is drinking water and eating her food like normal and she isnt acting any differently. She just has this nasty diarrhea, its like watching her poo liqid. Im really worried about her. Is there a way that i can maybe put a finger in her anus and see if i can feel anything? Or what should i do? HELP!! I dont want to loose my puppy…
Hey guys, she is ok now, turns out she was tearing her bed apart and she had eatn a little bit of foam, which she has since passed. Ive been watching her very closely to see if she was passing anything and if her poo was starting to solidify anymore and it has. SO were all good now. THanks for all the answers. I actually called a vet at 6 this morning and they told me that if she is eating and drinking and acting normal then she is good. And thats what she’s doing. So thanks again, sorry if my question was stupid, i just didnt know what i should do and i live in utah so everythin is closed on sunday…
Hi, really lovely I know, but my elderly dog has constipation. Its the complete opposite to how he normally is as food usually goes straight through him. Any advice on natural remedies would be fab and id be v.greatful! Thanks in advance!x
Ps:please no silly remarks, havent had the best 48 hrs with him as due to probable cancer, he nearly died the other day.Thats why im so desperate to make sure that nothing else causes him annoyance.
ps: He went to the vet for an emergency on weds, which incurred surgery, this incurred a bill of nearly £900. So please dont think that i am being cruel by not taking him in!!! I have been told that the anesthetic can also cause constipation. Anyone hear similar?
